About Upton Upon Severn

Upton Upon Severn, Worcestershire is a busy little town with a certain amount of "old world charm" located on the banks of the river Severn about 11 miles south of Worcester.

Many people visit Upton as part of their boating holiday - or for one of the number of spectacular annual events which are very rarely seen in towns many times larger than Upton. These events include:

  • An annual May bank holiday weekend Folk Festival attended by lovers of folk music from far and wide. Folk music is played at just about every available!  2001 saw the 12th such event  - from the 4th to 7th May.
  • An annual weekend Jazz Festival - even bigger than the Folk festival! Thousands of visitors make their way to Upton every year for this major event. The 2001 event was the 16th festival and was held on June the 22nd to 24th.
  • The Water Festival - around the end of August. A spectacular annual weekend event with numerous attractions and events including a fireworks and laser display on the Saturday evening.
There are other major events held nearby, including the Welland Steam Festival which is a an absolute must if the subject interests you - and even if it doesn't!

It goes without saying that if you are planning to visit Upton for one of these events and would like to include a meal at Pundits, booking in advance is virtually essential!
